Course Description
In this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe how outdoor play benefits children’s development.
- Examine the relationship among outdoor play, self-regulation and executive functioning skills.
- Explain how Canada’s Position Statement on Active Play and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child guide early learning programming.
- Explain the role and types of strategies that early learning teachers may use to promote outdoor play that supports children’s health, wellness and development.
- Describe why outdoor play is the hallmark for children’s development.
